A Hot Half transfers responsibility for the hot side to the supplier: plates, manifold, nozzles, wiring, connectors and actuation systems are assembled and tested before delivery.
Positive shut-off
The valve pin mechanically controls gate opening and closing, improving separation and gate appearance.
Sequential filling
Programmed gate opening guides the flow front in large or multi-gated parts.
Tested supply
Electrical components, valves and actuators are checked before the assembled unit is delivered.

When reducing assembly risk, simplifying integration and having one responsible supplier for the hot side are important.
Actuation
Pneumatic for simplicity, hydraulic for high force and electric when control and programmability are required.
Cosmetic surfaces
Valve gates are frequently selected to reduce vestige, prevent stringing and control weld lines and pressure.
